Autumn Round-Up

Been asleep for the past three months? Whether the cause was practicing for the Hibernation Olympics, a really hard night of drinking, or an ordinary everyday drug overdose, no need to fret - the Yale Record's got you covered!

This fabulous one-page supplemental will fill you in on everything that's been going on this season. Read about defeats through history that were worse than the Harvard-Yale game, how notable people spent their Thanksgivings, clip a coupon that will help you out in impending robot wars later this century, and if you're out of gift ideas for the holidays, Lawrence Pinkwater has some top-notch suggestions for you.

Read the whole thing on our supplementals page!

Shirts for the Harvard-Yale Game are a Sellout!

We at the Yale Record believe no "The Game" should pass without sophomoric t-shirts to symbolically represent our sophomoric (but stringent) anti-Harvard views. Following a long line of shirts in Record ages past, this year's Harvard shirt sold out within two days. Let's have another look at this classy gem for old time's sake:

[and our nice little owl on the back, as well as a date to ensure nobody dares to recycle it]

And just remember, Harfart's team may fight to the end, but YALE WILL WIN!

INTRODUCING THE CRIME ISSUE

The Crime Issue is finally here! We celebrated tonight with cider and cake in the Branford common room, but everyone else can celebrate by picking up a copy of the magazine in your local dining hall this Friday.

Click here to read sample articles, or subscribe and have it delivered to you by mail or email.

Welcome to Yale's New Library

bass.jpgIf you're like most typical Yalies, you're excited for the opening of the new Cross Campus Library! Er, sorry, Bass Library. Still getting the hang of that. After nearly three millennia in the making, Bass Library has opened to the general public, and this calls for some sort of celebration. Or at least as far as we here at the Record are concerned, an informational pamphlet. That's right: if you missed opening night of Bass Library, you probably missed our supplemental, too, so check out our guide to Bass Library before you visit!

Conning the Older Generation

If your parents visited this weekend and were confused by our Parents' Weekend supplemental, we know nothing about it. Except that it's now posted online here. Read about Yale's new construction projects, the new student monitoring system, and Yale's student demographics. You can even learn how to find out which parts of Yale belong to you personally! If you missed it in print, read it online today, or even if you read the real thing front to back, isn't it fun just to reminisce about that time you were reading it?

The Blue Book on Facebook

Thanks to the magic of Facebook applications, now you can actually put Record Blue Book classes into your Facebook profile! This application, based on the content of the Record Blue Book, based in turn on the content of the Yale Blue Book (let's be honest, who reads that one anyway?), lets you browse through funny classes in real and fake departments. You can even make up your own schedule of these classes to put in your profile.

[Left: This year's Blue Book cover]

The application is ready for open beta testing, so if you like to get in on the ground floor, test it out, provide suggestions, or just generally hack around with it, take a look at it!
